Pump It Up!
The Basics:
Pump it Up! aims to help the Providence community save money and gasoline by increasing the number of properly inflated tires on our roads. Americans waste a total of 1.2 billion gallons of gas each year by driving on underinflated tires. Pump it Up! is working to reduce this number by educating drivers as to why and how they can save money by inflating the tires on their cars.
Goals:
We aim to pump 1,000 drivers' tires in the first stage of the project. At the same time, we'll encourage drivers to maintain proper tire inflation and publicize the benefits – both environmental and economic – of proper tire inflation. Our mission is to increase cognizance of the importance of tire inflation and reduce automobile-related emissions by increasing fuel economy.
What We're Up to:
In January we completed our trial run, and surveyed drivers on awareness. Look for us at your local Providence gas station on Saturday afternoons!
